- Weighing Scales
- Mixing Bowl
- Whisk
- Weigh out 300g of Bicarbonate of Soda, 100g of Citric Acid, 20g of Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate Powder (SLSA), 10g of your chosen Fragrance Oil and 4g of Mica Powder.
- First add your bicarbonate of soda and the citric acid into the bowl, and mix.
- Add in your SLSA and mix well ensuring you get rid of any lumps.
- Add in your fragrance oil and thoroughly combine.
- To create a patterned bath bomb, separate one third of the mixture into another bowl. Add the mica powder into the larger bowl and mix thoroughly.
- The mixture should stick together like a snowball when squeezed. If it doesn’t then spray it with a little water until it does.
- Now fill your Bath Bomb Moulds with your desired pattern. Compact both halves and press together. Finally tap the outside of the moulds to release the bath bomb.
- Leave to cure overnight and your bath bombs are ready to enjoy.

1. How Do I Get The Best Swirl Effect When Moulding?
To achieve a beautiful marbled look, pack small, alternating pinches of the pink and white mixtures into your mold rather than layering them flat. Press each pinch firmly as you go to ensure the bomb stays solid while creating a unique, organic swirl for every single batch.
2. Will The Pink Colourant Stain My Bathtub?
No, this recipe is designed to disperse evenly into the water without leaving stubborn rings or stains behind. To ensure a clean finish every time, wipe down your tub before use, as bath bomb colors can sometimes cling to existing soap scum or oil residues.
3. Can I Use Other Shaped Moulds For This Recipe?
Absolutely! This mixture works beautifully in classic round metal or plastic sphere molds. If you want to lean into the dessert theme, you can also pack the mixture into silicone cupcake liners or donut moulds for a fun, bakery-style twist.
4. How Long Will These Bath Bombs Take To Try And Harden?
Once pressed, it is best to leave your bath bombs to dry in a cool, dry place for 24 to 48 hours. Letting them cure fully ensures they become rock-solid, making them much easier to package and ship without crumbling.
5. What Is The Shelf Life Of These Bath Bombs?
For the best fizz and scent throw, it is recommended to use these bath bombs within six months. To keep them fresh and prevent them from absorbing moisture from the air, store them in airtight packaging or shrink-wrap them soon after they have finished curing.
