SFC 27L Wax Melter – Steel with Glass Lid
The SFC 27L Wax Melter is built for makers who need reliable, large-batch melting with consistent performance. Whether you’re scaling production or streamlining your manufacturing process, this melter delivers the capacity and control required in a professional workspace.
Manufactured from high-quality stainless steel, it is designed for durability, longevity and daily use. Its clean, professional finish makes it a practical addition to any workshop or production environment.
Versatile Melting Capabilities
While ideal for wax, this melter is also suitable for:
- Butters
- Solid oils
- Soap bases
- Other compatible meltable ingredients
This flexibility makes it a valuable multi-purpose tool for product manufacturers.
27 Litre Capacity
With a generous 27L capacity, this unit is perfect for larger batches, reducing the need for multiple melting cycles and helping improve production efficiency.
As materials melt from solid to liquid, the volume will reduce. Always ensure you add enough product so that once melted, the contents remain above the minimum fill line.
Designed for Control & Visibility
The fitted glass lid allows you to monitor the melting process without removing the cover, helping maintain a consistent internal temperature.
Heat-resistant handles provide safe handling during operation.
The melter is designed to heat gradually to minimise the risk of scorching or overheating your materials.
Important Usage & Guarantee Information
It is essential that all instructions and safety guidance are read thoroughly before use.
- Contents must always remain above the minimum fill line while the melter is operating.
- The base of the unit must be fully covered to prevent dry burning.
- Operating below the minimum level can cause permanent damage.
Damage caused by dry burning is considered negligent use and will invalidate the manufacturer’s guarantee. In such cases, refunds or replacements will not be issued.
Wax Melter FAQs
Why does the red light turn on and off?
This is normal.
The indicator light illuminates when the unit is actively heating to reach or maintain the set temperature. It will cycle on and off throughout the melting process as the thermostat regulates heat.
My melter is beeping — is something wrong?
No — this is the Timer Alarm function.
When the middle switch is set to “I” (On), the alarm will sound once the selected temperature has been reached and melting begins.
You can:
-
Switch the alarm off (“O”) after notification
-
Set a timed heating period
-
Or turn the timer anti-clockwise to Continuous for uninterrupted heating
How long will it take to melt my wax or soap?
Melting times vary depending on:
-
The type of material
-
The melting point
-
The quantity being heated
The melter is designed to heat slowly and evenly to reduce the risk of burning. We recommend checking the product’s melting point (usually available on the MSDS) and testing to determine optimal timing for your specific material.
Is it normal for the centre to melt first?
Yes.
The heating elements are located at the base, so heat transfers upward. The centre will typically melt first, followed by the outer areas. Stir occasionally to distribute heat evenly.
My tap is blocked — what should I do?
If no product flows when the tap is opened:
-
Allow additional time for heat to transfer to the tap area.
-
Set the unit to Continuous to help melt any solidified material inside.
-
If necessary, carefully use a heat gun to warm the tap and clear the blockage.
The temperature dial reading differs from my thermometer
A 5–7°C variation between the machine dial and external thermometers is normal due to the materials used in construction and heat retention.
For best results, we recommend transferring melted wax or soap into a separate pouring jug before adding fragrance or additives.

Safety Information
- Remove packaging before use.
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth before use.
- Take care when handling the vessel and any metal surfaces whilst it is in use, as these will be hot.
- This product uses an AC power supply with a rated voltage of 230V/50-60HZ.
- Do not use if the plug or wire is damaged.
- Do not use if the power plug is not fully inserted into the plug socket.
- Do not bend the wire or exert force on it, as this may cause damage.
- Do not insert the plug into an overloaded socket or extension lead. The current should not exceed the limit of the socket.
- Do not use the product in damp places, close to flames or heat sources.
- Make sure the power switch is “off” before unplugging the power cord from the socket.
- Make sure the melter has been unplugged before pouring out the remaining wax and cleaning the product.
- Use the product on a clean and stable work surface.
- Do not turn on the product if there is no product in the bucket, as this can cause dry burning.
- Do not immerse the product in water/liquids, as this can cause electric shock.
- Do not remove the product lid when the item is in use.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- If smoke or a burning smell is detected, unplug immediately.
- Always turn off the item and unplug when not in use.
BOIL DRY PROTECTION
Our melters are protected by a thermal limiter with an automatic reset function to prevent further dry-boil damage. If the contents in the tank, such as wax, do not meet the minimum capacity, the melter will boil dry, and the thermal limiter will be activated, resulting in the appliance turning itself off (although the indicator light may remain on). At any point of dry boiling, the appliance must be unplugged immediately and cooled down before it can be reset.
THERMAL CUT-OUT
Our melters are fitted with a thermal cut-out to have double safety protection. When the contents are boiled dry, and the boil dry protections fail to work, the thermal cut-out will turn off the melter. When the melter has met this stage, it may be too damaged beyond repair and cannot be used again. Please avoid this by following the instructions provided.
Care & Maintenance
- Ensure the power supply is switched off before cleaning.
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
- Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
- Ensure the tap is clear of any wax after using to avoid blockages.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning materials, as this can scratch the surface.
- Excessive scale buildup can occur and affect the performance of the heating components; descaling is essential to maintain the product. To descale, we recommend adding a few spoonfuls of baking soda or vinegar to the bucket with a small amount of boiling water, then leaving it to soak. Rinse with clean water and dry off with a dry soft cloth. To clean the exterior, use a damp soft cloth when the melter is cool.
