This customer story is from Michelle. Michelle owns Handcrafted candles Liverpool, a Liverpool based candle business that has a very special background. This story will take a closer look at Michelle’s handcrafted candle business and what it was that sparked her to become involved in making and selling her own candles.
Michelle started making candles about 9 months ago from home when her dad, unfortunately, passed away. Michelle was heartbroken and needed to something new in her life to fill up her time and to keep herself busy. She decided to purchase a candle making kit and began to do a lot of in-depth research into candle making, which is where she found us, Supplies for Candles. Michelle went on to purchase some wax, dyes and fragrances and she hasn’t looked back. Once she started to sell her handcrafted candles, she couldn’t believe the response she had. All of her customers loved her candles and melts. Michelle also told us that if she is unsure about something she will visit the Supplies for Candles website, where we have lots of great and helpful advice, and where we also have Candle College, with a whole host of advice and tips. Michelle is doing well and so is her business, she still misses her dad but she knows he’s proud of her.
When it comes to Michelle’s brand, the name is sweet, simple and to the point! She makes handcrafted candles and she is from Liverpool, which is how she came up with the name. But getting just the name right isn’t where it ends. We asked Michelle how she chooses her candle and wax melt scents. There are so many to choose from but Michelle tends to go by what her customer’s want and the fragrances she likes.
And her advice for those who are wanting to start making their own candles and having a go at selling them? Short and strategic;
Don’t give up, keep trying, you will do it.
