If you are just starting in candle making, knowing where to start can be tricky. We wanted to make the process easier. To support both new and experienced candle makers, we aim to simplify the testing phase by generating controlled baseline data.
We preselected a broad representative range of fragrance oils based on formulation consistency and component diversity, ensuring coverage across our entire fragrance range. This allows our wick recommendations to be confidently extrapolated across our full fragrance range, as the selected test fragrances reflect varying viscosities, compositions, and performance.
Testing was conducted using eight popular and diverse fragrances — Alien, Aventos, Black Cherry, Black Opium, Linen Fresh, Lime Basil & Mandarin, Sauvage, and Pomegranate Noir — across our standard Karen Jar sizes (9cl, 20cl, 30cl, and 55cl). Each fragrance was evaluated using six leading wax types: Cocopro, Prosoy, Paraffin, Kerasoy, Nature C3, and Parasoy.
Following the production and assessment of over 700 candle samples, we established data-driven starting-point wick recommendations to streamline your own testing process.
