Wicking guidance (important)
Because wooden wicks are available in limited sizes, dialing in the right wick can take a little more testing.
-
If over-wicked (flame too large): carefully trim a thin strip from one edge to reduce the flame size.
-
If under-wicked (weak melt pool): double up the wicks or try a larger size.
If your wick extinguishes during burning, it’s usually a sign the wax blend isn’t suited to the wick—often due to fragrance load being too high. Try reducing the fragrance percentage.
You can also adjust the wax blend for better capillary action. Adding a small amount of beeswax can increase viscosity and help improve burn performance.
Trim before first light: Always trim so 5mm or less of wick sits above the wax before lighting. Not trimming can lead to poor performance and the wick going out mid-burn.
