How To Make Candles Using CocoPro Wax…

  1. Firstly, prepare your area by gathering all the necessary equipment needed. Ensure that your vessels are clean and dry before use.
  2. Next, melt your wax using your preferred method and melt at a low temperature of 50 degrees Celsius for a smooth pouring process.
  3. Whilst your wax is melting, set up your candle glasses with a different type of wick for testing using a wick centring tool and wick stickum to adhere to each glass.
  4. Warm your vessels to promote better adhesion between wax and vessel surface, using a hairdryer, heat gun, or warm water.
  5. Add your fragrance oil slightly above the pouring temperature to allow time for pouring before the wax cools.
  6. Carefully pour the melted wax into your vessels, leaving space at the top for smooth tops, ensuring even pouring to avoid spills.
  7. Leave your candles to cool and cure, up to 24 hours is usually best.
  8. Once your candles have cooled and set, trim your wicks to start conducting your burn tests.
  9. Track parameters such as room temperature, melt pool depth, and wick performance to optimise your candle-making process.

Wicking your candle is one of the most important parts of candle making but is also thought to be the most difficult. You may have picked the best type of wax, fragrance, and dye; however, if the incorrect wick is selected, your candle will not burn properly.
