What are the benefits of Essential Oils in Candles?
Aromatherapy: Essential oils are renowned for their aromatic properties, which can have a profound impact on mood and well-being. When infused into candles, essential oils release their natural scents, filling the room with delightful fragrances that can uplift, relax, or energize depending on the oil used.
Therapeutic Effects: Different essential oils have unique therapeutic properties. For example, lavender is known for its calming and stress-relieving effects, while eucalyptus can help clear the sinuses and promote respiratory health. By incorporating specific essential oils into candles, you can enjoy their therapeutic benefits through inhalation.
Natural Ingredients: Unlike synthetic fragrances, which may contain potentially harmful chemicals, essential oils are derived from natural plant sources. This makes them a healthier and more environmentally friendly option for scenting candles, especially for individuals sensitive to artificial fragrances. Long-Lasting Scent: Essential oils have a strong and long-lasting scent profile, ensuring that the fragrance of the candle remains potent throughout its burn time. This allows you to enjoy the aroma for extended periods without the need for frequent reapplications.
Customisation: Essential oils come in a wide variety of scents, allowing candle makers to create unique blends and cater to different preferences. Whether you prefer floral, citrus, herbal, or woody aromas, there’s an essential oil to suit every taste.
Holistic Experience: Using candles infused with essential oils can enhance the overall ambience of a space, creating a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. The gentle flicker of the flame combined with the soothing aroma of the oils can promote a sense of tranquillity and mindfulness, making them perfect for meditation, yoga, or simply unwinding after a long day.

How To Make Sun & Moon Sleep Candles…
- Firstly, prepare and clean your working area, and source all equipment needed.
- Slowly, add your Wax to your melter, turn on and leave to melt. Alternatively add to a double boiler to melt.
- Whilst melting, apply your Stick Ums to the bottom of your Wicks.
- Then, stick firmly to the bottom of your candle containers.
- Place your Centering Tools onto your jars, securing your wicks in place.
- Once your wax has melted to 70°C carefully pour 150g into a suitable jug.
- Next, add a few drops of Liquid Dye to the wax and mix well.
- Then carefully pour this into one of your candle jars. Pick up your jar and slowly turn and tilt moving the wax around the inside of your glass. As the wax cools it will stick to the sides in a wavy pattern. Continue until your wax has solidified. Then repeat with your other jar.
- With your remaining violet wax, place your mould onto a flat surface and pour it in to create your two Sun & Moon toppers.
- Then, cut the sustainer off your third wick and cut it into two. Use a centering tool to place each half into the centre of your Sun & Moon toppers, then leave to set.
- Next, place your candle containers onto a level surface. Fill your jug with 960g of wax and add in your Essential Oil and stir.
- When you are happy, slowly pour your wax into your jars.
- Ensure your wicks are still central, then leave to set.
- Once set, carefully remove your wick tools from your candles and toppers. Un mould your toppers and gently pull out the wick from the middle. Use a cocktail stick to ensure the holes go all the way through.
- Using a heat gun, melt the tops of your candles. Then for each candle feed the main wick through the base of your topper and sit it on the top of your candle.
- Finally leave to set, then you can enjoy your Sun & Moon Sleep Candles!
