Citric Acid, Anhydrous

Citric Acid, Anhydrous

Citric Acid Anhydrous is a naturally derived organic acid widely used in cosmetic, personal care, and cleaning formulations. Supplied in a water-free (anhydrous) form, it offers a higher level of reactivity compared to monohydrate citric acid, making it ideal for applications where a faster or more immediate reaction is required.

In cosmetic formulations, it is commonly used to adjust and maintain pH levels, helping to improve product stability and performance. It is also a key ingredient in bath bomb formulations, where it reacts with sodium bicarbonate to create the characteristic fizzing effect.

Due to its anhydrous nature, this form of citric acid is particularly well-suited for formulations where moisture control is important or where a stronger, more reactive acid is desired.

Beyond cosmetics, it is valued in cleaning products for its ability to help break down limescale, mineral deposits, and soap residue, making it a popular choice for natural and eco-friendly cleaning solutions.
