Wax Melts

Wax melts are small pieces of scent wax that release fragrance when melted in a wax warmer. Unlike candles, they don’t have a wick – The heat comes from either a tea light or an electric warmer, gently melting the wax and releasing the aroma into your space

The best wax depends on your preference:

• Soy wax: Natural, biodegradable, and holds fragrance well. It’s a popular choice for eco-conscious makers
• Paraffin Wax: Provides excellent scent throw and smooth finish but is derived from petroleum.
• Coconut or rapeseed wax – Great alternatives for those wanting a sustainable, creamy texture.
• Blended wax: Many makers use blends (e.g. parasoy) for optimal scent and finish, with the marketing advantages of natural ingredients.

Yes! Curing allows the fragrance oil to fully bind with the wax, resulting in a stronger scent throw.

The recommended curing time for wax melts is 7-14 days for soy wax, and 2-5 days for paraffin

Store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place while curing.

Dye chips – Specially made for candle and wax melt making, easy to measure and reproduce for colour consistency

Liquid dyes – Easy to mix for custom shades. May be difficult replicating the same colour every time.

Avoid food colouring or water-based dyes as they don’t mix well and cause separation.

Clamsells moulds are the most popular style as they create the wax melts and package them all in one.

Silicone moulds are a great choice for single wax melts. They’re flexible, easy to use, and come in many fun shapes. Once removed you will need to use packaging such as grease proof paper and cardboard boxes.
